Settled along Jalan Jambu Mawar in Jenjarom, this open-air spot offers a gentle breeze and an unhurried pace, the kind of place where the hum of conversation blends softly with the clink of bowls and chopsticks.

Walking in, you’re welcomed by an approachable warmth — not just from the herbal steam rising off simmering pots but from the owner’s easy presence, who often stops by to exchange stories about the decades spent perfecting his bak kut teh craft. It’s clear the kitchen is guided by a quiet passion, one that translates into dishes brimming with comforting depth and a respectful nod to heritage.

The culinary experience here is subtle yet comforting, where fragrant spices envelop tender pork, and each sip or bite reveals layers of care and tradition. Whether savored in the vibrant dryness of their special bak kut teh or enriched by the soothing warmth of the broth, the flavors feel familiar yet distinctive, making it just right for both repeat visits and first-timers seeking a genuine taste of home.

The setting complements the food beautifully — spacious enough to host lively gatherings without losing that sense of community. As rain or sun plays overhead, visitors find themselves lingering not just for the meal but for the easyhearted rhythm that ties the place to its village roots. It’s a spot where every visitor can pause, savor, and feel a little closer to a culinary story stretching back through generations.

First here and had a great meal. The dry Bkt was delicious and we added seafood cucumber which was thick and absorbed the flavour of the dry bkt very well. Order a soup version as well and it was just as good. The boss joined us at our table to chat with us and he's been selling BKT since the 1970s. Extremely friendly guy and he was so happy that we finished every bit of food we ordered.

Lovely authentic Bak Kut Teh around Jenjarum. Lovely pork meat in a soup or dried version of the dish. Lovely family owned restaurant and have been here for many years. The setting is at a village open space restaurant, felt good to have this in middle of the rain cool air. Would recommend to others to come for sure.

[holiao] 1) Overall - Chinese bak kuh teh place, average price, friendly service, spacious open air seating and parking capacity, do expect queue during peak hour, food and drink selection are pork broth, dry bak kuh teh, okra, fried vegetables, fish stir fry, sea cucumber and more from Restoran Ah Thiam Bak Kut Teh 2) The dried bak kut teh packs bold herbal flavours with a fragrant, slightly spicy kick. Tender meat pairs well with the thick, savoury sauce. 3) Braised sea cucumber is delicately soft and absorbs the rich, umami sauce beautifully — a luxurious and flavorful combo.

I love how the boss greet customers! So friendly and welcoming! Many Chinese tourist and they love sea cucumber Bak Kut Teh. Locals mostly order normal bkt and tze char. Taste is saltier compared to the other famous shop nearby. Pork is fresh and texture cooked till just nice. Very spacious and many tables for customers, don’t need to wait too long

If you expect comparable chill Aircond restaurant, sorry this is not your place but the bkt worth a try. They not only offer bkt but other pork stew like hong bak, dry bkt, pork bitterguarf soup. Famous dish: chai por egg Morning session sell until 2pm or it will sold out earlier, then night session start at 5pm again. If you want to visit temple in the noon, best that come here makan first else will need night session. Very big restaurant but limited space from one table to another. Very full house, expect some wait Not sure what to order ask them to recommend, and please be quick when u order They also sell can food (non halal) Not sure the toilet clean or not
